The weekend on Platak will be marked by the European Skibike Cup

Under the auspices of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Tourist Board of Kvarner and with the technical support of the Goran Sports Center, Platak will  27 to 29 January 2023 to host an attractive international ski bike race "2nd European Skibike Cup", whose organizer is Skibike Club Croatia.

After last year's successful premier edition in which around thirty ski bikers took part, this year the competition is being raised to the European level with the participation of around forty competitors from as many as eleven countries. Platak is the second leg of the European Cup, which starts on January 11 in Austria.

For the first time, in cooperation with Red Bull, a cross race is planned in which the competitors of all mentioned disciplines will start simultaneously.

The main race will be held on Saturday, January 28, at the Radeševo ​​2 track, starting at 11 a.m. The announcement of the winner is expected at 15:18 p.m., and the program ends around XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

The organizers point out that one of the biggest news this year is that multiple world champion Gerfried Seeber will compete for the Croatian national team and Skibike Club Croatia. From domestic competitors, Croatia will be represented by Emanuel Bastaja, Loren Franović, Teo Žikić and Jure Lucic, a skibike veteran who is responsible for bringing this competition to Croatia and to Platak.

Skibike or skibob is the name for a ski bike that uses skis instead of wheels, thus combining two Olympic sports, namely skiing and cycling. As it was pointed out, the event will bring the world trends of adrenaline sports closer to Croatia and promote it through test rides with licensed trainers.

In addition to the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the TZ of Kvarner, the event is also supported by the Municipality of Čavle, Keindl Sport, Adria PA, Promocast, Eretic Snowscoot and Sledgehammer.
