Children from the Home for Uncollected Children in Lovran will be skiing in Platak this weekend

Rijeka Ski Club will be from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th February in Platka to hold the final of the EU project EnterSport whose goal is the social inclusion of marginalized children in sports, in this case in alpine skiing, in which they will try 20 residents of the Home for neglected children "Ivana Brlić Mažuranić" from Lovran. The EnterSport project is financed by the EU Erasmus+ Sport Program and the Small Collaborative Partnership.

"Through the project, Rijeka Ski Club provided the children with all the logistics, equipment and ski instructors. The goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to try alpine skiing and experience the joy it brings. We are very proud of this project because we help children who are without parental care and who are in the Home through no fault of their own. I believe that we will bring them a lot of joy, and we are giving them a chance. Because you never know what good could come out of that opportunity", said Rijeka Ski Club president prof. Ph.D. Davor Štimac.

"On Platka, the children, residents of the Home for neglected children, will be taught their first steps on skis by ski teachers, coaches and former competitors of Ski Club Rijeka, as well as other ski teachers and demonstrators, members of the Association of Snow Sports Teachers and Trainers of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County under the leadership Tomislav Šepić, for which we thank them in advance. Namely, it is a great fortune to have such generous colleagues in our sport who selflessly share their knowledge and time to make the children's stay in the snow more beautiful. I believe that meeting and working with the children from Ivan Brlić Mažuranić Home from Lovran will also fill us with good energy and positivity", said the sports director of Rijeka Ski Club Antun Andrijašević.

Support for this nice initiative was also given by Goran sports center Delnice which is to the wards and their teachers donated 40 ski tickets for the Baby lift.
