On Sunday at Platka, the 12th Carnival Snowboard Session

On Sunday, February 12, Platak will host about 30 competitors at the 12th Carnival Snowboard Session, which will also be the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county snowboard championship, the organizers of the international event announced from Snowboard Club Nina, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and Rijeka carnival today in the seat of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

About thirty competitors of the 12th Carnival Snowboard Session from Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Ukraine will compete in the discipline slope style, that is, performing acrobatics on jumps and elements, the so-called tricks, announced Miodrag Toskić, president of Snowboard Club Nine, when going down the track.

"He is happy that this event will grow into an ever larger and more significant event, both sports and tourist. We are glad that more and more competitors from the surrounding area are coming to us, and therefore we are happy to support the event on Platka, which has huge potential" said the director of the Kvarner Tourist Board, Irena Peršić Živadinov.

Everything will start with a training session at 11 a.m. in order for the competitors to familiarize themselves with the track and warm up for the competition, which will also be the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county snowboard championship. Competitors will be divided into several categories: children, juniors and seniors, and the female and male categories will be judged.

The prize fund is worth 1.000 euros. The best in the senior category will receive a prize of 400 euros, while the best senior will receive 150 euros. Everyone who steps on one of the two snowboard tracks - children's or senior - will have the opportunity to show the best they know in the qualification round, after which it is up to the judges Vid Barić and Morena Makar to decide who goes to the final round, and then who performed the most attractive movements, was the most consistent and diverse and deserved the title of winner.

Master Sandi said that he expects a good party and invited all citizens to visit Platak and the 12th Carnival Snowboard Session on Sunday. The county councilor of the KIGO platform, Leo Pavela, emphasized that Platak is breaking all records this year in terms of the number of visitors, and that this event will also contribute to that.

DJ Dog and commentator/presenter David Puharić will take care of the atmosphere on the track. After the announcement of the best, which is scheduled for 16 p.m., an after party was organized in the X-bar at the bottom of the Radeševo ​​trail.
The competition will be held in the snowboard park, and the activities of the 12th Carnival Snowboard Session will not disturb the normal operation of the slopes on Platak.

The Carnival Snowboard Session, which has been organized by Snowboard club Nine since its beginning in 2008, is organized in different forms in the center of Rijeka with the desire to use the time of the Rijeka Carnival to popularize the sport. This will be the first time that CSS will be held in Platak, the place where most snowboarders from the region made their first moves on a snowboard. The organizers, who normally organize boarding schools on Platak, wanted to make use of the existing infrastructure at the ski resort, but also to enrich its offer with the combination of an attractive competition and a carnival atmosphere.

This year's edition of the Carnival Snowboard Session is supported by the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Tourist Board of Kvarner, the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka, the Ski Association of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Goran Sports Center, which manages Platka.
