The open day and the celebration of the International Olympic Day attracted many visitors to Platak

More than three thousand recreationists from all over Croatia enjoyed a wonderful sports day on Platka.

An attractive event organized by the sports recreation association "Sport for all" PGŽ in cooperation with KŠR Gorovo, the Teaching Institute for Public Health PGŽ, MM Training, the Association Healthy life becomes a habit, the Croatian Red Cross - Society of the Red Cross PGŽ, Primorje-Gorski County, Zajednica of sports PGŽ and the Goran sports center and under the auspices of the Croatian Olympic Committee, offered numerous activities.

After the introductory words of Mladen Pokrajčić, Marija Jakominić and Vesna Čavar, the program started with athletics, mountaineering and MM Training. AK Kvarner organized training for preschool and elementary school children, including cross for children and parents. PD Kamenjak Rijeka led hikers on the Platak - Snježnik - Platak trail, and Marijo Mlinarić prepared an energetic training session.

Nordic walkers participated in the programs "Parents and children in nature", "Steps to health" and "Every step is important" for people with disabilities. OK Krk, archers from SK Ajkula Rijeka and VOP SUP Team also enriched the day with their activities.

The Goran Sports Center organized "Open Days on Platak" with promotional prices for props, including tubing, panoramic cable car rides, trampolines, bicycles, pedal cars, disc golf and sports fields. Angeli Ranch was popular with family and therapeutic riding.

The Croatian Red Cross PGŽ organized meetings of voluntary blood donors and competitions in brischula, treseta, whiteball, bocce and tug-of-war. Visitors could visit the stand of the Teaching Institute for Public Health PGŽ for education about healthy living and measuring blood pressure and sugar.

The atmosphere was completed by host Dražen Turina – Šajeta and DJ Kristina Blondes, providing a musical atmosphere for all ages. The International Olympic Day in Platak once again proved the attractiveness of this program and dedication to promoting a healthy life.
