The third edition of the Galeb Sail & Ski Race event
The beginning of March is reserved for the third edition of the unique sports event "Galeb Sail & Ski Race", which will be held from March 7th to 9th in Platak and Kostrena.
This event combines sailing and skiing and is the best way to connect the coastal and Gorski Kotar regions of our county, which is why the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County has been its patron since the very beginning.
The event begins on Friday, March 7, with an afternoon event on Platak. If weather conditions are not favorable for the planned evening giant slalom race, competitors will try their hand at another sporting discipline.
On Saturday and Sunday, March 8th and 9th, the competitions continue with sailing off Kostrena in the classes Šljuka, 420 and ILCA 6 (formerly Laser Radial), and the overall victory will count for points in both competitions.
The ski race will be held according to FIS rules on the Radeševo 1 track with technical support from the Goranski Sports Center and the Municipality of Čavle, while the organization in Kostrena will be handled by the Galeb Sailing Club, with housekeeping support from the Municipality of Kostrena and the Kostrena Tourist Board.

A sports event "Galeb Sail & Ski Race", the organizers want to revitalize an important part of our region's sporting history, recalling the former "Adriatic Slalom" from 1981, a popular competition that combined skiing and sailing and brought together great athletes from both worlds. Rarely can a region boast the geographically unique opportunity to hold skiing and sailing competitions at such a short distance.
