"I must express my satisfaction that the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Goranski Sports Center have enabled us to hold a race of this level. This is proof that after many years, "some new winds are blowing" in Platak, so I believe that this is just the beginning of cooperation. Namely, back in 2010, we held the European Cup, a competition of the highest level in Platak, and now we are on the best path to repeat it and get back on our feet. The complete infrastructure has been built and based on investments in Platak, we can plan and organize competitions of this level. It is clear that there is still room for improvement, but we put our "heads together" and these "new winds" in Platak, together with an established team and phenomenal cooperation, resulted in this year's organization of the Croatian Championship race. By the way, we have been planning such a competition for years, but it was unachievable. Now it is possible, we will prove it, despite all the weather and rain. The track will hold up," he said. In the name of Rijeka Ski Club, who is the technical organizer of the Croatian Championship, addressed the crowd President Davor Stimac who mentioned the sporting events of one of the most active weeks on Platak. Last Friday, the Cro Ski competition in the younger categories was held, and in the afternoon, the Sail&Ski Race, a three-day event that connected the mountainous and coastal Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, was held through a skiing competition on Platak and sailing in Kostrena, in cooperation with the Galeb Sailing Club. "Tonight, competitors from a strong FIS competition are arriving. Platak is now becoming the first Croatian ski resort, and this is only possible thanks to better infrastructure and personnel structure," said Štimac.
