A weekend dedicated to sports: the 9th edition of the All Faces of Platka event
Sports, nature and socializing meet again at 1111 meters above sea level - Platak is ready for another unforgettable edition of the event All faces of Platka!
The ninth edition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd and 24th, on the premises of RSRTC Platak, and visitors can expect a rich sports and recreational program.
The Sports Face of Platak – Saturday, August 23rd
Saturday is reserved for recreational sports and outdoor socializing. Platak will be transformed into a real sports arena where visitors can play indoor soccer, beach volleyball, 3×3 basketball, bocce or try their hand at disc golf. The program begins at 9 a.m. in the parking lot, and the winners will be announced after the end of each discipline. A special place will be taken by 3×3 basketball, which, in addition to the senior tournament, includes a wheelchair basketball tournament and competitions for younger categories organized by the Kostrena Olympic Committee and Kostrena Basketball Club, which will also officially open the event.
On Saturday, the Obruč Mountaineering Association joins with the initiative Give me your hand, which enables people with disabilities to have a safe and comfortable stay in the mountains.
Vertical face of Platak – Sunday, August 24th
Sunday brings an adrenaline peak for runners who can expect three attractive courses: Unpredictable 9, Exciting 15 and already known, now even more challenging 22-ica powered by INA. Cyclists will test their strength in a 38 km long marathon, and for the first time e-bike enthusiasts have their own category, which makes this year's edition more inclusive and dynamic than ever. Registration is also possible on the day of the race itself, no later than 30 minutes before the start.
On both days, the event will be enriched by a Decathlon sports corner with sports games, educational activities and challenges for all ages. From the youngest to the most experienced athletes - everyone will find something for themselves, and family content and active fun are guaranteed.
The best competitors will take home unique wooden medals from the workshop. Mountaineering trophy, valuable prizes and rich gift packages.
The organizers are proud to highlight their collaboration with domestic brands such as pero® eco-friendly cleaning products, Row Spirit by Martin Sinković, Dogma socks, Maru functional cosmetics and Nutty barice, which further promote sustainability, a healthy lifestyle and Croatian products.
The project was supported by the Municipality of Čavle, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Kvarner Tourist Board, INA, JGL, ACI, Erste Bank and numerous other partners.
It is especially important to point out that thanks to the Nautilus Student Sports Association, with the support of the Student Center and the Student Union of the University of Rijeka, students of the University of Rijeka have the opportunity to participate for free this year as well.
