4. Canihike face of Platak – hiking with dogs and humanitarian action

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the fourth edition of the event "Canihike face of Platka", a hiking event aimed at dog owners and their pets. The program is organized in cooperation with the Coordination Working Group for Animal Protection of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (KRAS), and participants will be offered three different guided routes.

Before departure, participants will be able to join in humanitarian photography campaign, with voluntary donations going to the Dog Shelter "Rijeka Animal Protection Society". Members of the association will present their activities and volunteering opportunities.

To everyone participants Leaflets will be distributed with practical information about the rights and obligations of dog owners, ideas for outings, dog behavior in urban areas, and tips for providing first aid to pets.

The three hiking routes include:

• Reverse Radeševo ​​promenade (easier): start at 11 am, length 7 km, ascent 250 m, duration about 2,5 hours.

• Sleme & Treskavac (medium): start at 10:30 am, length 6 km (8 km with optional climb to Treskavac), ascent 300 m, duration 3 to 3,5 hours.

• Snježnik – Guslica (longer): start at 10 am, length 10 km, ascent 700 m, duration 4 to 5 hours.

Participation in the event is free of charge thanks to the support of KRAS and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The number of participants is limited to 25 people with a dog per tour. Dogs must be on a leash upon arrival and introduction, while they can be let loose in the forest at the owner's risk. The organizers remind you that it is necessary to bring a sufficient amount of water for yourself and your pets.
