Announcement: Ski season begins on Platak
Artificial snowmaking in Platak began in the second half of December, so that whenever weather conditions allowed, sufficient amounts of snow could be accumulated to last as long as possible. This time, nature also contributed with natural snow and sub-zero temperatures, so the upcoming weekend will mark the start of the ski season at the popular seaside ski resort.
The Baby Trail and Baby Lift are open on Epiphany, on Thursday, January 8th, the lower part of the Radeševo 1 trail and the Radeševo lane will open, and on Saturday, January 10th, the Radeševo 1 trail in its full profile and the Tourist Trail will also open.
Trails that are not under a snowmaking system and depend solely on natural snow will be opened according to possibilities. The Tešnje ski lift, which is more than 50 years old, unfortunately no longer meets safety standards. The accredited inspection body for the safety of cable cars for transporting people did not give a positive opinion for its continued operation. After several arduous seasons in attempts to maintain it and purchase equipment that is no longer produced, the time has come for Tešnje to enter a well-deserved retirement.
Platak will once again host a series of interesting events and attractive sports competitions this winter. A touch of carnival spirit will arrive on February 1st with the 15th edition of the Carnival Snowboard Session, and the International Skibike Race will also take place on the same day. The season will continue with a unique sports combination of sailing and skiing – Galeb Ski & Sail, the date of which will be announced later.
Price list for the winter season 2025/2026 has been published on the website, and prices have remained unchanged compared to last season.
Daily and weekly ski passes can be purchased at the Platak box office, as well as online and at Petrol gas stations. Season passes and tickets at discounted prices will continue to be available exclusively at Platak.
Night skiing, as in previous years, will be organized on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, whenever weather conditions permit. Daytime skiing and the operation of the cable car, lifts and tracks will take place daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The ticket office opens at 8:00 AM, and on night skiing days (Tuesdays and Fridays) at 6:00 PM.
As for the development plans for Platak, efforts are being made to find a solution for connecting the Radeševo upper station and the Tešnja upper station, which would also correspond to the capacity of the new ski lift. With the aim of improving the ski infrastructure, mulching and hydroseeding of the lower part of the Radeševo 1 slope began during the summer, and after the winter season, it is planned to continue on the upper part, in order to improve skiing conditions and facilitate slope preparation.
