Carnival Snowboard Session on February 1st in Platak

Carnival Snowboard Session once again brings top-notch snowboarding and a carnival atmosphere to Platak for all lovers of snow sports and good fun.

The beginning of February in Platak will be marked by a combination of adrenaline, sportsmanship and recognizable carnival energy. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the bottom of the Radeševo ​​trail will be held 15th edition of Carnival Snowboard Session, a traditional international snowboard competition that has successfully combined winter sports and the spirit of the Rijeka Carnival for almost two decades.

This is the fifteenth edition of the event, which has been profiled as one of the most special snowboard competitions in the region since 2008, and is organized by Snowboard club Nine. After the first eleven editions held in the very center of Rijeka, the Carnival Snowboard Session has been successfully held in Platko in recent years, using the infrastructure of a modern snowboard park and ideal natural conditions.

Snowboarders from Croatia and neighboring countries will gather at Platak, competing in children's, juniors, and seniors' categories, in both men's and women's competitions. The competition is held in the slopestyle discipline, one of the most attractive snowboarding disciplines for the audience, which allows competitors to demonstrate their technical readiness, creativity, style, and jump height through a series of jumps, rails, and other elements.

Snowboarders are judged by a team of expert judges, taking into account the overall impression – from the difficulty and execution of tricks to the fluidity and originality of the ride. It is this combination that makes slopestyle extremely interesting for spectators, who can enjoy exciting performances by top competitors throughout the day, so don't miss this attractive event on Platak!

Carnival Snowboard Session It is also the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Snowboard Championship, and competitors can expect a prize fund of €1.000,00.

Apart from the sporting part, the event traditionally takes place in a relaxed and carnival atmosphere, which Carnival Snowboard Session further enriches the Rijeka Carnival program and the winter tourism offer of the region. The goal of the organizers is to promote snowboarding as an attractive sport, but also to create an event that combines sport, entertainment and the unique identity of Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
