Platak once again hosts the world ski bike elite

For the fifth year in a row, Platak and the Radeševo ​​trail have become the world capital of ski biking.

Skibike Club Croatia is organizing the fifth international skibike competition, which will from January 30 to February 1, 2026. to bring top drivers from all over the world to Kvarner.

In 2023, Platak hosted the largest ski bike race ever held in the world, with a record 87 competitors from 14 countries. Last year, 30 riders competed in Platak, while this year, thanks to the attractive night race, a larger turnout is expected - between 30 and 50 competitors.

Emanuel Bastaja, the winner of the scooter discipline at the Pannonian Challenge, will defend the Croatian colors in Platka, followed by Teo Žikić, Loren Franović and Marko Medica.

The program begins on Friday, January 30th, with the arrival and registration of competitors. On Saturday, January 31st, in the afternoon, qualifying runs will be held, followed by the main competition.

On Saturday, the Radeševo ​​track will be open to all visitors to Platak from 9:00 to 13:00. Rides by members of the Croatian Association of Skiing and Snowboarding Enthusiasts (HULJS) are scheduled from 13:00 to 15:30. Qualification rides begin at 16:30, while races in the skibike, 3ski and snowscoot disciplines start at 17:00, lasting until 19:30.

Organizers are hoping for more favorable weather conditions than last year, when rain and fog made it difficult to hold the races.

This year's competition is also the first World Cup race of the current season. The race in Austria is not scheduled until March, while the dates of the competitions in Romania and Italy have not yet been confirmed.

The competition is held with the support of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Kvarner Tourist Boards, Croatian National Tourist Board, Tourist boards of the municipality of Čavle, Goranski Sports Center  and sponsors Toyota ARC Mihelić.

In the last five years, Platak has emerged as one of the world's most important ski bike destinations, attracting top athletes and adrenaline sports enthusiasts from all over the world.
