International Olympic Day in Platak brings activities for the whole family

On Sunday 7. June In 2026, Platak will again host the commemoration International Olympic Day through a full-day program of sports, recreational, educational and entertainment activities intended for all generations. The program begins at 10:XNUMX p.m. with a grand opening, followed by a series of outdoor activities aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, spending time in nature and the importance of physical activity.

As part of the program, there will be a hiking trip organized by PD Kamenjak Rijeka, training led by Mario Mlinarić, and the final training of the "You Lose, but You Get" program.

Visitors can also expect numerous sports activities for all generations. The Kvarner Athletic Club organizes outdoor training for preschoolers and elementary school children, as well as cross-country skiing for children and parents, while the first Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Pensioners' Olympics will also be held.

Special emphasis is placed on family activities and recreational activities, so the Association of School Sports Associations of the County of Požega will organize the program "Parents and Children in Nature", and there will also be a Nordic walking event "Step by Step to Health" organized by the Gorovo KŠR. A special Nordic walking program called "Every Step Matters" has been prepared for people with disabilities.

The Gorski Sports Center is organizing an "Open Doors Day", with promotional prices for renting sports equipment and props, including the use of sports fields, renting bicycles, pedal cars, trampolines, tubing, disc golf. A daily ticket will cost 10 euros for adults and 7,50 euros for children and people with disabilities.

The program also includes family and therapeutic horseback riding organized by Angeli Ranch, the promotion of stand up paddle boarding (SUP) organized by the VOP Sup Team, and archery organized by SK Ajkule.

An important part of the event will be the "Healthy Corner", where the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Public Health Institute will conduct training on a healthy lifestyle, measuring blood pressure and blood sugar, assessing muscle status, determining body mass index and assessing health risks. The Red Cross Society of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County will hold training on first aid and a presentation on resuscitation using an automated external defibrillator.

DJ Tommy will be in charge of the music and entertainment part of the program throughout the day.

The organizers invite citizens of all generations to spend the day on Platak, participate in sports and recreational activities, and celebrate International Olympic Day in nature and active socializing.

The attractive event is organized by the Sports Recreation Association "Sport for All" of the County of Podgorica in cooperation with the Gorovo Sports Club, the Public Health Teaching Institute of the County of Podgorica, MM Training, the Healthy Life Becomes a Habit Association, the Croatian Red Cross - Red Cross Society of the County of Podgorica, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the Sports Association of the County of Podgorica and the Gorani Sports Center under the auspices of the Croatian Olympic Committee.
